What is Oregon Health Plan (OHP)?
The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) https://www.oregon.gov/oha/hsd/ohp/pages/new-ohp.aspx is a state-sponsored health insurance program for low-income Oregonians.
The program is overseen by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and provides access to a wide range of healthcare services, including preventive care, mental health services, and addiction treatment.
The OHP is Oregon’s Medicaid program and is funded jointly by the state and federal governments.
Eligibility for the OHP is determined by income, family size, and other factors. Most adults who qualify for the OHP are employed but are not eligible for employer-sponsored health insurance. The OHP also covers children, pregnant women, seniors, and people with disabilities.
The Oregon Health Plan has two main components: the Standard Plan and the Plus Plan. The Standard Plan is the basic level of coverage and covers a wide range of health care services.
The Plus Plan provides additional benefits, including dental coverage, vision care, and prescription drug coverage. Most Oregonians who qualify for the OHP are enrolled in the Standard Plan.
If you are eligible for the Oregon Health Plan, you can enroll through the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace. You can also enroll directly through the OHA, or through your county’s social service office. Coverage under the OHP begins on the first day of the month following enrollment.
