Words from an Online Clinical Mental Health Counselor
As an online clinical mental health counselor, I am often asked by the individuals that I work with how they can start to make a change in their life. I think that the key to making a change is believing that change is possible and then holding on to that belief even when we can’t necessarily see the change happening directly in our lives. Therefore, I encourage people to start out with small goals, which can be accomplished and then stacking them on top of each other in order to create momentum. Another way that you could look at this is by making small promises to yourself, keeping those promises, and then building on the momentum of keeping those small promises to fuel the energy that you need to fulfill the big promises or the big goals.
